Mister Jiu's: always go for the Liberty duck
Why go: When you want the best duck in town
Order: Liberty Duck
I really like to eat duck in Chinese restaurants. Duck and rice. Maybe a soup by the side. It does not have to be fancy. When you want the best in town, head to Mister Jiu's.
Beautiful bar upstairs: Moongate Lounge. Great cocktails, beautiful decor. They also do fancy events if you get invited.
Talk about the duck. Liberty Farms, Sonoma. Pre-order it with the reservation. The treatment that makes the skin crispier. I have had my fair share of this dish, and I am still impressed by the flavor, the texture, and the crunch. The condiments. The little tortillas. Somebody will say those are not tortillas. If you were raised with them, you see them anywhere. Mix duck, condiments, veggies. Enjoy.
Now it is a $125 Peking duck banquet you can pre-order. The à la carte duck sells out. Pre-order it with the reservation.
Definitely the best restaurant in Chinatown. Sorry China Live. You are trendy and I love you too. El señor Jiu and I have some good stories.
Reserve in advance. Pre-order the duck. I repeat, go for the duck.
