## Review

This is my top burrito in San Francisco. Since appearing in the Michelin guide, the line got really big. Still worth it. No rice, pure love of carne asada. Funny that you get a burrito at La Taqueria. Go for the carne asada, make it supreme, ask for extra guac if you want. The carne asada is grilled to order.

If you are repeating, make sure to try the variety of tacos. The salsa is amazing. They even have issues with people stealing the containers. Part of the Mission's taqueria culture for decades, La Taqueria has been doing this long enough that the name is a little joke on first-timers: you come for the burrito, then you come back for the tacos.

We are still missing a proper burrito photo. For now, at least we have the carne asada on the grill and the actual tacos on the table.

## Guest perspective: Aldo on La Taqueria

Se ha vuelto una tradición ir por La Taquería con mi amigo Aldo. Su opinión:

> Lo más cercano a un burrito sonorense en EEUU con salsa que SÍ pica.

## What to order

- **Carne Asada Burrito (Supreme):** Grilled-to-order steak burrito with sour cream, guac, and cheese -no rice
- **Extra Guacamole:** Fresh, chunky guacamole made daily
- **Carne Asada Tacos:** Simple, perfect tacos with tender grilled beef and fresh salsa

## Tips

No reservations. The Michelin-guide line is long; go at off-peak hours.

## If you're visiting La Taqueria

### What makes La Taqueria's burrito special?

This is my top burrito in San Francisco. No rice, pure love of carne asada. Funny that you get a burrito at a place called La Taqueria, but the carne asada is grilled to order and that is the whole point.

### Why is the line so long?

Since appearing in the Michelin guide, the line got really big. It is still worth it. Go at off-peak hours if you can, but the wait is part of getting the best burrito in the city.

### Should I get tacos or a burrito?

Get the burrito first. If you are repeating, make sure to try the variety of tacos. The salsa is amazing. They even have issues with people stealing the containers.
